Scanner apps also add a safety margin around every scanned page to prevent edge clipping. The result is a PDF where the actual document content is surrounded by a thick white border that wasn't present in the original paper document.
How to remove margins from a PDF step by step
Drag each crop handle inward by the same amount to remove uniform margins. Drag individual handles independently to trim different amounts from each side.
- Open the Crop PDF tool and upload your document.
- Select the pages whose margins you want to remove — or select all pages.
- Drag the crop handles inward until the margin is removed. For symmetrical margins, drag all four handles by equal amounts.
- Click Download. The saved file has the margins removed permanently.
